Data Protection

The way we use people's personal information is covered by law.  This law is called the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

About me

Personal information means anything that can be used to find out who you are and how to contact you.  This could be:

  • name
  • address
  • telephone number
  • email address
  • date of birth
  • parent/carer name(s)

Ethnicity

We also collect special category data:

  • education, for example, special educational needs (SEN)
  • ethnicity
  • physical/mental health, for example, disabilities

Data

We collect data to:

  • identify your child's SENs and/or disability
  • identify the support required, which will help your child/young person to achieve their outcomes
  • identify who we need to speak to so that we can ask them to send us information and advice relating to your child
  • make decisions about whether to make a statutory needs assessment or issue an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

By law, we must hold any necessary personal or special category information about you.
