Information for children and young people (BVI)

There are many ideas for resources and materials on the RNIB website, as well as links to other sites. The following links show ideas for classroom resources and ideas for parents and carers. Some links show the variety of assistive technology available and how iPads can be used effectively with children and young people who have a vision impairment.

ICT to reinforce learning (BVI)

Being able to use computers, phones and other gadgets for learning, leisure and keeping in contact with friends and family is key for blind and vision impaired children and young people.

Habilitation - mobility (BVI)

Habilitation for children and young people with vision impairment will seek to enable the individual to be as independent, safe and confident as possible. As a local authority we commission Guide Dogs to deliver habilitation support for children and young people with vision impairment. Where appropriate, referrals can be made by a Specialist Advisory Teacher for BVI (SAT BVI).
